Welcome to the Applications Page for the Field Hockey BC Foundation Bursary Programs


Field Hockey BC is pleased to announce that during 2023-2024, application windows will open for all Bursary Programs currently held within the philanthropic arm of the Society, 'The Field Hockey BC Foundation'. Designed to support athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and events, bursary application windows will open to specific timeframes during 2023-2024. Detail pertaining to each Bursary Application Window is included on this page (below).

 

Please take a close look at the required eligibility for each Bursary Program and the associated application window. The links provided to download respective application forms will only be active during the application window. Applications to the Barb Hart Harris Athlete Assistance Bursary

The Barb Hart Harris Athlete Assistance Bursary is open to applications from male and female athletes actively participating in the FHBC Athlete Regional Programs (FHBC Technical Development Program/FHBC Athlete Development Program/FHBC Principles of Play Program/FHBC Talent Identification Program/FHBC Regional Team Programs). If you are unsure as to whether you qualify for an application, please contact the FHBC Athlete Program Manager, Katie Jameson at katie@fieldhockeybritishcolumbia.com or 604-730-7220.

 

This Bursary Program currently has a single application intake window annually. To apply, simply download and application form by clicking on the link below.

Applications to the Judy Broom High Performance Bursary

The Judy Broom High Performance Bursary is open to applications from eligible Female athletes selected to a 'Team BC' Provincial Program in the current season.

 

This Bursary Program currently has a single application window in June/July annually. To apply, simply download an application form by clicking on the link below. Applications to the Allyn Murison Grassroots Bursary

The Allyn Murison Grassroots Bursary is open to applications from eligible Female athletes under the age of 12 to support their participation in field hockey. This Bursary focuses on assisting with the costs involved with participating in field hockey at the club level.

 

This Bursary Program currently has a single application window targeting participation during the Junior League Season in BC. The window will open and close in the calendar month of March/April annually. To apply, simply download an application form by clicking on the link below. Applications to the Moira Rerrie Post Secondary Bursary

The Moira Rerrie Post Secondary Bursary is open to applications from eligible Female athletes attending their first year of university and wishing to continue their participation in Field Hockey. This Bursary focuses on assisting with the costs involved with participation as an athlete but also encourages applicants wishing to extend their interest in post secondary coach eduation and officiating.

 

This Bursary Program currently has a single application window during the calendar month of August annually. To apply, simply download an application form by clicking on the link below. Applications to the Dr. Christine Grant Coaching and Jenny John Officiating Professional Development Bursary

The Dr. Christine Grant Coaching and Jenny John Officiating Professional Development Bursary is open to applications from both male and female coaches and officials and is designed to contribute towards an individuals professional development (tailored to a value added 'give back' to the field hockey community in British Columbia). The Bursary is open to all levels of coach and official, with officiating including both umpires and technical officials. Special consideration within the Dr. Christine Grant Coaching Professional Development Bursary is given to applications from BC High School Students (in grades 9-12), such was Christine's desire to inspire young coaches and especially young female coaches to get further involved with our great game. Applications to the Pat Hall Officials Development Award

The Pat Hall Officials Development Award is designed to promote the development of Vancouver Island umpires and technical officials with preference given to members of the Vancouver Island Ladies Field Hockey Association (VILFHA), the Vancouver Island Field Hockey Association (VIFHA), and the Victoria Junior Field Hockey Association (VJFHA).
